The Johns Creek Veterans Association (JCVA) is an independent association formed within and supported by the City of Johns Creek, Georgia for the purpose of recognizing the contributions of the city’s veterans as well as the veterans of surrounding municipalities. Membership is open to all eligible veterans as defined in the Bylaws of the Association.
The JCVA endeavors to provide support to a variety of veteran activities and to veterans themselves.
Incorporated as a 501(c)(19) organization under the laws of the state of Georgia and pursuant to the IRS Code of 1986, the Association is governed by a Board of Directors and elected Officials (President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer) as defined in its Bylaws and as determined, in part, by its membership.
The primary focus of the JCVA will fall into three primary categories as determined by its Charter:
- Veterans Oral History Project – video recording the experiences of the members of the club beginning with WWII veterans and moving forward in time through current conflicts.
- Outreach to returning veterans to encourage their participation in the club and to assist these veterans in obtaining the benefits earned by their service.
- Social Function - Promote the general welfare of members of the association and their families.
In addition, the Association helps promote respect for the Flag of the United States of America, the concept of patriotism, and a sense of understanding for the service and sacrifice of those who served and continue to serve this nation and community.
